Roadmap
Throughline is moving toward a stable v1 plugin for real DAW sessions. This roadmap shows what is active now, what is likely next, what is further out, and what has shipped. Items may move as plugin compatibility testing changes release confidence.
Now
Active work focused on making Throughline credible as a v1 plugin.
Stable VST3 and Audio Unit builds
Plugin StabilityMake current Throughline builds installable and usable in the initial plugin formats: VST3 and Audio Unit.
DAW compatibility passes
Plugin StabilityTest Logic Pro, Ableton Live, and Reaper through install, open, audio or MIDI playback, session save and reopen, and patch recall.
Reliable patch save/load
WorkflowMake customer patches survive sessions and updates predictably, so work created in Throughline can be reopened with confidence.
Initial V1 Factory Set
Sound & PatchingShip a small release-blocking set of inspectable factory patches covering mono synth, layered pad, ambient drone, sequenced bassline, tape delay, crossfading layers, and plucked resonator workflows. MIDI-controlled effect-track patches remain gated on audio-input validation.
Early-access release flow
Access & ReleasesMake it clear for early-access supporters to find builds, read release notes, and understand what changed between releases.
Next
Committed follow-on work once the active stability spine is in place.
Expanded factory patch library
Sound & PatchingAdd more useful starting points after the initial V1 Factory Set, including broader FX, MIDI-driven, and experimental workflows once their runtime and host-validation paths are reliable.
Deeper modulation workflows
Sound & PatchingImprove expressive routing and modulation utilities while keeping the v1 sound promise focused.
Sequencing and MIDI workflow improvements
Sound & PatchingImprove rhythmic and MIDI-driven patch creation inside Throughline.
Editor workflow polish
WorkflowMake graph editing faster, clearer, and less error-prone as patches become more complex.
Later
Longer-range expansion areas that are not near-term commitments.
Sampling and audio-file workflows
Sound & PatchingExplore ways to bring recorded audio into Throughline patches.
Granular, polyrhythmic, and experimental synthesis
Sound & PatchingExplore granular instruments, polyrhythmic modulation systems, and other identity pieces beyond the release-blocking V1 Factory Set.
MPE and expressive performance
Sound & PatchingExplore deeper performance control for expressive controllers and MPE-capable workflows.
Community patch sharing
WorkflowExplore ways for customers to discover, exchange, and learn from patches after the core product is stable.
Additional plugin formats and DAWs
Plugin StabilityConsider additional formats and hosts, including CLAP, AAX, Bitwig, Studio One, Cubase, and FL Studio, after the v1 plugin scope is stable.
