Keyboard Shortcuts

Every editor action binding below requires at least one modifier key so note keys remain available to a DAW's computer-keyboard musical input. Most bindings can be changed — see Rebinding. Piano note keys stay fixed.

Canvas

Shortcut Action
Shift+A Open node browser
Option+Shift+V / Alt+Shift+V Select tool
Option+Shift+H / Alt+Shift+H Pan tool
Option+Shift+C / Alt+Shift+C Cut tool
Cmd+A / Ctrl+A Select all visible nodes
Option+Shift+Delete / Alt+Shift+Delete Delete selected nodes or links
Option+Shift+Backspace / Alt+Shift+Backspace Delete selected nodes or links
Option+Shift+D / Alt+Shift+D Duplicate selected node
Option+Shift+M / Alt+Shift+M Mute or bypass selected node
Option+Shift+T / Alt+Shift+T Tidy graph (auto-layout)
Option+Shift+F / Alt+Shift+F Zoom to fit selection
Option+Shift+Home / Alt+Shift+Home Zoom to fit all visible nodes
Cmd+X / Ctrl+X Delete node and reconnect chain
Option+←/→/↑/↓ / Alt+←/→/↑/↓ Nudge selection one step

Delete and reconnect works when the selected node has one compatible incoming connection and one compatible outgoing connection. If the routing is ambiguous or the neighbouring sockets are incompatible, Throughline deletes the node without reconnecting and shows an explanation.

Zones

You edit a Polyphony Zone by stepping inside it.

Shortcut Action
Option+Shift+E / Alt+Shift+E Enter selected Zone
Option+Shift+X / Alt+Shift+X Exit current Zone

Cmd+Shift+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z Redo
Option+Shift+P / Alt+Shift+P Toggle piano mode

Inside a DAW

The plugin runs in a host that owns the keyboard, so a few bindings change. These are fixed in plugin mode and cannot be rebound.

Shortcut In the browser In the plugin
Option+Shift+Space / Alt+Shift+Space Play or pause Disabled. The host owns the transport.
Cmd+/ / Ctrl+/ Shortcut help Unchanged, but fixed
Option+Shift+P / Alt+Shift+P Piano mode Unchanged, but fixed

The modified group-navigation bindings are also fixed in plugin mode.

Rebinding

Open settings with Cmd+J / Ctrl+J and go to the shortcuts page to change a binding. Every custom editor action binding must include Cmd, Ctrl, Option/Alt, or Shift. Shortcuts are grouped as Global, Canvas, Structure, and Piano Mode. Piano note keys stay fixed, as do the bindings listed as fixed in plugin mode.

Option/Alt action shortcuts follow physical key positions when the operating system transforms the typed character. On non-QWERTY layouts, the letter shown in the shortcut label can therefore differ from the printed key cap.

Piano Mode

Piano mode turns the computer keyboard into a note source. It is available when a MIDI input is present in the patch.

Shortcut Action
A S D F G H J K L ; White keys, C4 up to E5
W E T Y U O P Black keys
Shift + note key Play with velocity 120

Shift raises note velocity except for Shift+A, which opens the Node browser. Option/Alt, Ctrl, and Cmd-modified chords are reserved for editor actions while piano mode is active.
